I was born and raised in a small town called Kolhapur in Western India, snuggled in the Sahyadri mountain ranges. Both of my parents were professors, my mom a mathematician and my dad a physicist. 

 

I completed my Bachelors in Medicine and Surgery and was a practicing medical resident in a hospital for a few years. In India, you can practice general medicine with a Bachelors degree. You need to get an MD if you want to specialize.

 

I was interested in Cell/Molecular Biology research and came to the U.S. to pursue my MS at UTA and UTSW medical. After working in Cell/ Cancer/ Molecular Biology research for more than 10 years, I transitioned into Biotech Product Management and Marketing to improve my work-life balance. Being a mom and working in a lab for crazy hours was exhausting!

 

I have been working in the Technical Marketing field for the last 8 years and learning by trial and error. Social and Digital media is critical to Marketing today. I am currently pursuing “Certificate in Digital Media Content Creation” from UCSD to boost my skill set. I am open to freelance work, contract and permanent positions in this field.
